They're there for the big hugs, to teach important lessons and to play with endlessly while giggles fill the room: Dads make a big difference in every preschooler's life! In anticipation of Father's Day, it's nice to spend time making dads and other father figures a homemade gift at school that kids can give to loved ones on Sunday.

Here are 10 great Father's Day crafts for preschoolers:

Massive medal: Give him a medal he'll never forget by painting paper plates yellow and adding ribbon tails to the bottom. Then help students write "World's Best Dad" and have them decorate with jewels and star stickers. Finish by adding yarn to the back so it can easily be hung.

Collage art: Use construction paper with a large heart outline and the words "I love you to pieces!" written at the top. Then have students use colorful paper pieces to fill in the heart as they desire. You can also use puzzle pieces if you have a bunch of incomplete puzzles you want to repurpose.

Handprint keepsake: Use the poem below and add the child's handprint for a sweet way to show Dad some love and it's sure to be cherished for years to come:

This is my hand
My hand will do
A 1,000 loving things for you
And you will remember
When I am tall
That once my hand
Was just this small

Footprint art: Get out those wiggly toes! Have each child make a footprint with paint on a piece of construction paper. When dry, transform the footprint into a rocket ship using markers and cutouts. Finish by writing "I love you to the moon and back."

Dads rock: Go on a rock hunt outside and help kids select medium-size rocks with light, smooth surfaces. Then come back inside and they can use these to create a face that looks like their father. They can draw hair, eyes, mouth, etc., with markers. Then on the back teachers can write "You rock, Dad" and add the student's name.

Questionnaire: Kids say the darndest things, so a cute printable questionnaire is the perfect classroom activity. Paper trail design offers adorable free printables in a tie shape for fathers and grandfathers.

Superhero coloring: For all he does, Dad is truly a superhero. Have students color this free superhero printable from My Teaching Station to represent their fathers and then send home as a gift on this special day.

Bookmarks: Use the free Arts and Crafts Stickers provided to schools when they use Lifetouch Preschool Photography and adhere to blank bookmarks. Then let kids' creativity soar as they decorate them with crayons, markers and stickers for Dad.

Sunshine noodle art: Adhere or paint a small yellow circle in the center of a piece of construction paper. Then have kids use white and red noodles to create the sun's rays. Finish by adding the line, "You are my sunshine," to the piece.

Grape stamp card: Look through craft supplies and use items about 1/2 to 1 inch in circular size for stamping artwork. Sponges on wooden handles work well. Then have kids stamp using purple paint roughly in the shape of a triangle. Add a green leaf at the top and the words "I love you bunches" and you have a cute card.

They're there for the big hugs, to teach important lessons and to play with endlessly while giggles fill the room: Dads make a big difference in every preschooler's life!
